Applicant's request for more time refused!

Last month we advised our supporters to watch out for the Applicant’s (PVDP) answers to the questions asked by the Secretary of State (SoS) in April 2026. The questions were detailed and varied and included:

• landscape and visual impacts • residential visual amenity • heritage impacts • ecological matters • flood risk and hydrology • aviation safety • agricultural land quality • site selection and alternatives • grid connection arrangements All of these matters were previously raised by Stop Botley West (SBW), our supporters and other interested parties during the Examination which concluded in November 2025.

PVDP recently sent a letter to the SoS requesting an extension of nearly 4 months to 25 September to complete the work required to answer the 70+ questions.

The SoS replied and refused any extension, giving PVDP just one more day to submit what they could by the original deadline of 9 June.

This was a very interesting development and not good news for PVDP!

What happens next?

The answers that PVDP and others submitted to the SoS were published on 11 June.
