Bladon Snippets from the Past

A wave of Painted Lady butterflies is reported to be coming to the UK.

This also happened about thirty years ago. The field at the top of Heath Lane which bordered the woods was covered with large thistles in full bloom which the butterflies targeted.

Such a sight I recall: a sea of blue covered in white and orange.
