The Arts Society Cotswolds

The Arts Society Cotswolds will explore The Nation’s Mantelpiece, a history of the National Gallery told through ten paintings.

Founded in 1824, the National Gallery in Trafalgar Square houses one of the world's finest collections of European paintings. The lecture looks at how ideas about an ideal national collection, and the audiences it should serve, have evolved over two centuries.

The hybrid lecture will be held at Warwick Hall, Burford, with online access also available.
